World Champ Christopher Blevins said it best “This thing gives me everything I could want from a hardtail plus the control and capability of full suspension.” All it took to create this speed machine was a totally integrated development approach inventing a radical new shock and four decades of off-road winning experience.</p><p>FRAME OF REFERENCE: To deliver maximum speed through ruthlessly efficient power transfer and precision handling our engineering team set and achieved new standards in torsional rigidity and BB stiffness. This feat required an integrated development approach that merged a structurally superior double diamond layout with its shock cradled inside the top-tube and finished off with the most sophisticated composite layup in Specialized history.</p><p>SHOCKINGLY FAST: The Specialized Ride Dynamics team conceived of and invented a revolutionary shock technology for the Epic World Cup that gives the rider the efficiency and snappy response of a hardtail PLUS the control capability and momentum-carrying of full suspension—all with a simple setup. Co-developed with RockShox the SID Deluxe WCID shock utilizes a unique independently adjustable positive and negative air springs to deliver the sought-after hardtail “snap” combined with terrain-devouring forgiveness and the ability to easily personalize set-up for a specific course or tune for rider preference and feel. Set it firm and it rides like a hardtail or open it up and you have a chunk-squashing ripper. NACE UNA NUEVA FORMA DE SUSPENSIÓN:

El equipo de Specialized Ride Dynamics concibió e inventó una revolucionaria tecnología de amortiguadores para la Epic World Cup que proporciona al ciclista la eficiencia y repuesta rápida de una bicicleta rígida MÁS el control, la capacidad y el impulso de una doble suspensión, todo ello con una sencilla configuración.

Co-desarrollado con RockShox, el amortiguador SID Deluxe WCID utiliza unas cámaras de aire positivas y negativas ajustables de forma independiente para ofrecer el tan buscado «efecto» de una bicicleta rígida, combinado con una amortiguación que devora el terreno, y la capacidad de personalizar fácilmente la configuración para un recorrido específico o ajustarla a las preferencias y sensaciones del ciclista.

Usa la configuración firme y rodará como una rígida, o utiliza la configuración más activa y absorberá cada bache sin perder eficiencia ni aceleración. Pero no solo estas limitado a «abierto y cerrado», la naturaleza simple de su configuración permite al ciclista ajustarla en todo el espectro entre firme y suave.

SUPERANDO SU PROPIA CATEGORIA:

Los 75mm de recorrido trasero de la Epic World Cup proporcionan el control y capacidad de una bicicleta de mayor recorrido. Debido a que está diseñado para funcionar con un sag muy reducido, ofrece el mismo recorrido efectivo que una bicicleta de 100mm con un 25% de sag. Para optimizar aún más el rendimiento de la suspensión, el equipo de Specialized Ride Dynamics ha ajustado la cámara de aire para que sea relativamente lineal en la mitad de la suspensión y así absorber impactos grandes como una bici de mayor recorrido. Debido a su gran tamaño, el Mega Jounce Bumper es una «primicia en la industria» y juega un papel crucial en la absorción cuando haces tope con impactos fuertes.

¿HEMOS PERDIDO “LA CABEZA”? Algo así: Mientras que el nuevo y revolucionario amortiguador SID Deluxe WCID proporciona la combinación única de suspensión y rigidez en la parte trasera, el BRAIN sigue vivito y coleando en la horquilla. Su tecnología Position-Sensitive hace que los primeros 15 mm de recorrido sean muy suaves para no perder tracción en pequeños baches mientras que el resto de la suspensión tiene un comportamiento más firme para no contaminar el pedaleo. Todo esto sin necesidad de un bloqueo remoto o palanca.

EL PESO ESTÁ POR ENCIMA:

Con un peso del cuadro de sólo 1.765 gramos (pintado, con amortiguador y todo el hardware), la S-Works Epic World Cup supera a la más ligera de sus competidoras. Acelera más rápido, escala de manera eficiente y se controla mejor en cualquier circunstancia.

  • El nuevo cuadro Epic World Cup incorpora la tecnología de suspensión Ride Dynamics Developed y 75 mm de recorrido optimizado en la parte trasera. Gracias a su sistema de amortiguación, la Epic World Cup ofrece una eficiencia de pedaleo inigualable y está preparada para las bajadas más exigentes, sin necesidad de ningún mando remoto para abrir y bloquear el amortiguador.
  • La transmisión SRAM XX1 SL se ha desarrollado en base a lo que los mejores ciclistas necesitan en cuanto a rendimiento y firmeza de un cambio, por lo que está perfectamente adaptado a las exigencias de las carreras de montaña.
  • Una horquilla SID SL BRAIN totalmente nueva proporciona 110 mm de rendimiento distinguiendo automáticamente entre las fuerzas que provienen del terreno o del ciclista para proporcionar la máxima eficiencia.
